About River

River (River Reed Canter Burton) was born December 9, 2007 in Cooperstown, New York--home of the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was almost born in the front seat of his parent's 2002 PT Cruiser, but they made it through the ice storm just in time to welcome him into the world that evening.
River is named from a Langston Hughes poem titled, The Negro Speaks of Rivers and the super smart comic book character, Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four. You can guess which parent picked which name.
River sat at four months, crawled at six and walked at ten--though he didn't get his first tooth until he was 9 1/2 months old. He talks a lot, especially to express his immense displeasure with life, his parents, and the world when it doesn't go the way he wants it to.
River enjoys books, Rugrats, pretending, super heroes, all fruits, cookies, ice cream and M&Ms. He believes that turning four years old gave him four-year-old powers.
His mother would describe him as kind-hearted, imaginative, inquisitive, active, and super duper silly.

He also loves ICE CREAM!
